ICSI outcome in severely oligoasthenozoospermic patients and its relationship to prewash progressive sperm motility*

چکیده
Materials and methods: Th e study included 80 infertile couples who were treated by ICSI due to severe oligoasthenozoospermia (<106). Results were obtained by retrospective analysis of data that are regularly entered into SPSS in our In Vitro Fertilization Unit. Female patients older than 35 years were excluded. Th e patients were divided into 2 groups according to prewash progressive sperm motility. Group I had progressive sperm motility below 10% (n = 40), and group II had progressive sperm motility equal to or greater than 10% (n = 40). Th e main outcome measure was the clinical pregnancy rate.

Effects of Sperm DNA Fragmentation on Semen Parameters and ICSI Outcome Determined by an Improved SCD Test, Halosperm
Background Sperm DNA fragmentation is known as an important cause of male infertility. The influence of sperm DNA damage on reproductive potential has been subject of many studies indicating various results and remaining the subject controversial. In this study, we investigated differences of the semen parameters and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) outcome according to sperm DNA fragmen...
متن کاملRelationship between serum follicle stimulating hormone in the male and standard sperm parameters, and the results of intracytoplasmic sperm injection.
Serum follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is routinely measured when evaluating the infertile male for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). However, among the sperm parameters, only its relationship with sperm concentration is well documented. Few investigations concern the relationship between FSH and sperm motility and morphology, and the results of ICSI. A retrospective study of 316 coupl...
متن کاملHuman sperm centrin levels & outcome of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)--a pilot study.
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVE The objective of the present study was to compare the levels of sperm centrin a centrosomal protein that influences cell migration, in normal fertile donors and in oligoasthenozoospermic males (count 5 million/ml and motility <40%, grade c+d) undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and to correlate with the outcome of ICSI. METHODS The prospective study carri...
متن کاملبررسی ارتباط فاکتورهای آنالیز اسپرم با پیامد درمان ناباروری به روش تزریق داخل سیتوپلاسمی اسپرم (ICSI)
Background: Not all patients benefit from ICSI. To establish the factors that affect the success rate of ICSI is probably useful in determining the prognosis of ICSI. The aim of this study was the evaluation of the relationship between semen parameters and the outcome of the Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection( ICSI).Methods: A retrospective case control study was performed on 523 infertile ...
متن کاملThe evaluation of sperm chromatin status in men with different infertility factors, and its relationship with ICSI outcomes
One of the most important factors related to male fertility is sperm chromatin status. Under Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART), especially Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), the natural selection of high quality sperm with intact chromatin is not possible. Therefore, embryo quality and pregnancy rate decreased for damaged DNA of sperms involved in the fertilization of eggs. Thus, thi...
